South Beach Miami

Now that winter is coming and here in France it is getting pretty cold, I definitely miss my Florida.

I was looking at my pictures from last year and I thought that it would be a good idea to make some posts about my experience in Miami, to give some suggestions about places, restaurants, clubs etc. for people that may want to visit this amazing city.

I am going to start with the location that everyone knows or at least heard once: South Beach.

Of course if you go to Miami, you will spend most of your time on the beach, where the water, at least in this part of the coast, is just as good as the Carribean.

But what distinguish SB is the amount of people partying on the beach with music, holding the typical american red solo cups (you can not show that you are drinking in the US), police everywhere, lifeguards in Baywatch style and gym addicted people like bodybuilders exercise and showing their muscles.

Then just across the street you have Ocean Drive, full of very tourist restaurants to have brunch or a huge drink during happy hour time.
You can have a nice walk on Collins Avenue where you find most of the shops and famous hotels. Although, I prefer Lincoln Road, where I also find 2 of my favorite restaurants in Miami; the first is called Next and, on sundays, it makes absolutely the best brunch ever, the other is 5 Napkin Grill, where you can not miss their original burger, a little expensive but totally worth it.

Whenever you want to party, there is always something going on in SB. If it’s daytime you will have a lot of fun at Nikki beach (fancy place on the beach, a little too “italian” in terms of people and style), or you can get inside hotels like SLS and Delano that host some of the best pool parties.

At night you must try at least once the club LIV, inside the Fontaineblau hotel, where you often meet celebrities and music is always good. Also Story and Mansion Nightclubs host great parties and famous djs every weekend.
If istead you prefer to stay on Ocean Drive, you can be sure you will find some interesting places even at night. Go to Mango’s tropical Cafe’ for a real Miami latin experience; here you find cuban meals, dancers that will surprise you, and of course a lot of latin music and a “particular atmosphere” that needs to be tried at least once. Another well known bar/lounge/hotel/pool-party/restaurant is Clevelander, that you can easily recognize walking on Ocean Drive and where fun is guaranteed.
